New book news
Megan Lynn Rose
First up we have Megan Lynn Rose's Debut book. This one deserves to be on everyone's TBR pile.
She’s sworn off love. But fate has other plans. In a kingdom full of lies, her heart will be torn in two. The Dark Witch killed one of Ellie Parrish's sisters. Now Ellie is determined to save her youngest sister as well. This time from their own vile parents. Through adoption, Ellie can free her from them. But it may require her to enter into that one contract that has screamed of lies and misery her entire life. Marriage. An offer from her closest friend, Micah, is tempting ... in so many ways. But his love is only a reminder of what she’s incapable of giving—her heart. However, a chance meeting with the Prince of Terra, and an unimaginable invitation, may give her another option. A chance to convince him to change the law so an unwed woman can adopt. She’ll simply need to keep herself from falling for him while doing so. In a kingdom full of lies, everyone has someone to protect, everyone has something to hide, and with whispers of the Dark Witch’s return, no one knows what evil is coming. Kingdom of Lies is the first book in The Broken Kingdom YA Fantasy Series that features broken characters, surprising plot twists, closed-door romance, and as always, a happily ever after. If you liked The Selection Series but wished it had a bit of fantasy, then you’ll love Megan Lynn Rose’s page-turning series.
Then Wen Spencer has her book up for preorder. I've heard on the rumour mill that they will be doing an eARC again but probably only half the book. I don't know if that is mean or just clever. But to be sure I will be snapping up the ARC because I absolutely adore Wen's books.
The war against the oni heats to a flashpoint even as Tinker learns that the enemy has a dangerous new weapon, the nactka. What’s more, the Stone Clan has sent its most famous warlords, the Harbingers, to take control of the allied war effort. Are these elves friends or foes? Tinker’s newfound baby siblings are up for grabs. The babies, though, are wood sprites and aren’t going to take things lying down. Team Mischief go!
This book has been the latest buzz in the fantasy circles so I had to add it here. It also helps that they are making a Valdemar series.
From a beloved fantasy author comes this fresh feminist retelling of Sleeping Beauty about one girl destined for greatness—and the powerful sister ready to protect her by any means necessary.
Miriam may be the daughter of Queen Alethia of Tirendell, but she's not a princess. She's the child of Alethia and her previous husband, the King's Champion, who died fighting for the king, and she has no ambitions to rule. When her new baby sister Aurora, heir to the throne, is born, she's ecstatic. She adores the baby, who seems perfect in every way. But on the day of Aurora's christening, an uninvited Dark Fae arrives, prepared to curse her, and Miriam discovers she possesses impossible power.
Soon, Miriam is charged with being trained in both magic and combat to act as chief protector to her sister. But shadowy threats are moving closer and closer to their kingdom, and Miriam's dark power may not be enough to save everyone she loves, let alone herself.
